The unspoken language of children

Its hard to know what young kids are thinking. As i sit here in starbucks, i see the cutest little kids coming in the door. One of them, an adorable little blonde girl, was placed at a table and began to face me. She seemed shy at first, I beamed her a smile and waived. She smiled back and just at that moment, another young girl walked over to the cute blonde girl and waived and said hello. It looked like they were both the same age. I guess it is just one of those things that we will never know what is really going on in their heads. Maybe it is an unspoken language that we are not privy too. Life never ceases to amaze me. Until next time...

Seriously...think about what you want

You may not know it but the things you thought about last week are coming true this week. Although thoughts don't manifest themselves right away and in some cases to the untrained mind, it may take a week, a month or even years, once you are in touch with what you are thinking, there is no limit to how quickly they show themselves. If you think things are dull, they become dull. If you think your drive to work is boring, it certainly becomes that way. If you begin your view your life the way you would like to see it, your life shall become it. When you focus on disasters, your life becomes a disaster. No one deserves that in their life and you have to reverse the thinking that brought you to this point, this moment in your life. Its as easy as flipping a switch. You don't leave your lights on all day (at least i hope not :-), so why would you leave those disastrous thoughts on in your head, flip the switch and change direction. Do this every day! Do it for 30 days and you have

What you focus on you experience

Quite often in our lives we talk about things in the future tense or past tense. What you may not realize is whatever it is you are discussing, you put into your future. If you appreciate more and give thanks for the things you have, you tend to project that into the future, thus enabling the universe to work in true form and make give you less power. The sooner you realize how powerless you are, the more abundance the universe gives back to you. If you keep insisting that life is hard, and that it isn't fair, and that you are alone, you will realize that it truly is and you are, However, you can just as easily focus on the great in your life. Until next time...

There are people...

So there are people that you build relationships and friendships with and then there are the others. A good friend of mine sent me something one time that said Reason, season, and lifetime. It is a poem (if you can call it that) and for those of you that don't know it, or need a refresher, here you go: Reason, Season, or Lifetime People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty; to provide you with guidance and support; to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.

Movie Review: Precious

Image
4.5 out of 5 No, I am not talking about my cat, nor am I talking about the dog in Silence of the lambs. I am talking about the Oscar winning movie that just came out this year. I was hesitant to watch it and don't like films of such a heavy nature, however, much like Angela's Ashes, this movie proved to be well worth the hour and fourty five minutes it takes to view it. My friend Noah and I went to my friend Anna's place last night, in our PJ's…mind you it was Anna's idea and we decided to dress the part. I am sure the people walking down the street thought we were a bit odd or extremely out of our element. Thank God Anna only lives about 2 minutes from our house so we didn't have to expose more people to our randomness. I laughed at Noah and said, "hey its kind of nice, at least when the movie is over, i don't have to spend as much time getting ready for bed". He laughed. I wasn't sure what to expect and to my surprise, the movi

Being your best

Do you like to do the bare minimum just to get by or would you rather take the reigns and bring the horses back to the stable? I would say, no matter what you do, make the choice to be your absolute best. Don't wait for the person next to you to raise their hand to trump you, take the initiative and be the best you can be...do more than you expected. There are no limitations except the ones in your head. In the game of life, there is no winning and no losing. This is a very limited philosophy. It states that there is a good person who did more than someone else and a bad person, who came so close, but didn't cut it. You have already won just by choosing to enter the race. Don't make excuses, just do. By being active in the process you will feel much more fulfilled than had you sat the race out. Avoiding a situation is really no way to be present, it is a cop out. You can be all that you have ever dreamed just be getting into the flow of life. Even if you don't know your
