I love technology

Technology is truly amazing. I remember not too long ago, in a galaxy far far away when I used to write letters to my friends. It was a tedious process in that you had to write the letter, find out how many stamps it would take, figure out postage rates for international vs domestic mail, and then mail it off. You would drop the letter in the mailbox and then wait, and wait, and wait some more and wait a little more and then when you stopped waiting, a letter would come for you. I remember feeling so elated to have the letter in my hands and opening it and reading the contents. Sometimes you had to read it more than once to see what it is all about and make sure you understood it completely. If you were at all like me, and maybe you weren’t, I saved all the letters from my friends and girlfriends in a shoebox. I would take some time out once or twice a year to read the letters and reminisce. It seemed so normal, yet now it seems so antiquated. We don’t handwrite letters any...

Just one line. Dear God, I pray for a cure for cancer. Amen All you are asked to do is keep this circulating, even if it's only to one more person. And you thought Norwegians were dumb

Thanks for sharing mom.. Norwegian Math Test A Norwegian fella wants a job, but the foreman won't hire him until he passes a little math test. Here is your first question, the foreman said. 'Without using numbers, represent the number 9.' 'Without numbers?' The Norwegian says, 'Dat's easy.' and proceeds to draw three trees. 'What's this?' the boss asks. 'Vot! you got no brain? Tree and tree and tree make nine,' says the Norwegian. 'Fair enough,' says the boss. 'Here's your second question. Use the same rules, but this time the number is 99.' The Norwegian stares into space for a while, then picks up the picture that he has just drawn and makes a smudge on each tree. 'Dar ya go.' The boss scratches his head and says, 'How on earth do you get that to represent 99?' 'Each of DA trees is dirty now. So, it's dirty tree, and dirty tree, and dirty tree. Dat is 99.' The boss is getting wo...

Too funny not to share

Thank you Collette for the repost. Washington Post's Mensa Invitational once again invited readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are the winners: 1. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period of time. 2. Ignoranus : A person who's both stupid and an asshole. 3. Intaxicaton : Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with. 4. Reintarnation : Coming back to life as a hillbilly. 5. Bozone ( n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future. 6. Foreploy : Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of getting laid.. 7. Giraffiti : Vandalism spray-painted very, very high 8. Sarchasm : The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and...

Movie Review: No Strings Attached

Image
out of 5 stars This is a cute story of Ashton Kucher (Adam) and Natalie Portman (Emma) who have known each other since camp back in the day. Their lives have always intertwined through college and grown up life. After Adam's big break up he decides to call every girl in his phone book to see who will have sex with him. He ends up getting inanely drunk and wakes up the next morning, naked on Emma's couch convinced he has had sex with someone in the apartment. After much deliberation, and the final word from Emma, he realizes he didn't have sex with anyone. He finds out he acted pretty inappropriately in front of Emma and eventually they begin making out...The rest you will have to watch. It is a very cute film and some of the one liners are classic. The first 20 minutes of the movie alone will have you laughing out loud so that you may even miss the in between lines. This is a great single or date movie. I feel you will get a kick out of it either way....
