The X-Factor

So many of you may know about my intention to try out of x-factor. If not, you are now in the know. I figured the reason nothing else seems to be working out is because this is the direction I am supposed to be going. I haven't nailed down a song yet but will by tomorrow night at the latest. I made a list of songs and would like to throw it out there and see what you guys think. If there is a song on this list that you don't see that you think I may be good at, drop me a line at twitter @chadbordes Songs are: Time and Again Aha Birthright Aha The winner takes it all Abba Amonia Ave Alan Parsons project Try Asher Book Be yourself Audioslave Fire and Rain James Taylor Call & Answer Bare Naked Ladies And so it goes Billy Joel Sorry seems to be Elton John Three Little birds Bob Marley Everything I own Bread Lost and all alone Bread Just the way you are Bruno Where angels fear to tread Bryan Adams I was only dreamin Bryan Adams Letting the cables sleep...

The power of music...just be open

"Doubt startin' to creep in, everyday it's just so grey and black. Hope, I just need a ray of that 'Cause no one sees my vision When I play it for 'em, they just say it's wack. But they don't know what dope is. And I don't know if I was awake or asleep when I wrote this. All I know is you came to me when I was at my lowest. You picked me up, breathed new life in me. I owe my life to you. Before the life of me, I don't see why you don't see like I do. But it just dawned on me; you lost a son. See this light in you? It's dark. Let me turn on the lights and brighten me and enlighten you. I don't think you realize what you mean to me, not the slightest clue."     "It hurts when I see you struggle. You come to me with ideas. You say that these are pieces, so I'm puzzled. 'Cause the sh-t I hear is crazy, But you're either getting lazy, or you don't believe in you no more. Seems like your own opinions, not one you can ...

Upbeat song

Thanks Michelle Jebelles for sharing

Do you ever...

Get a song stuck in your head first thing in the morning? It happens to me more often than i can remember. I have come to trust that there is some meaning associated with the song that has planted itself in my head. I feel the universe wants me to take a closer look at the song, listen to the lyrics, perhaps sing along, who knows Yes I am crazy, but I feel that by doing all these things, it helps me jump start my morning. It gives me a direction and a purpose for the day. I sing and it takes me out of that "routine" negative funk that sometimes creeps in early in the morning. A time that should be set aside for thinking of all the amazing possibilities, gets jumbled up by the negative "have nots" or even worse, "what if's" Its truly my belief that we live in a society based in fear. Fear that you cannot do the things you think you can, or fear that you should do one thing or another to protect yourself. Fear that if you leave your house alone, y...

As I learn about my father….

His passion for music begs me to dig deeper into who he was with regard to all of his musical choices. The below mentioned piece is amazing. It was his all time favorite. I now see why, as it is talking about love and the powerful choices we make when falling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VATmgtmR5o4 From Wikipedia: Context and musical analysis In the act before this aria, Calaf has correctly answered the three riddles put to all of Princess Turandot's prospective suitors. Nonetheless, she recoils at the thought of marriage to him. Calaf offers her another chance by challenging her to guess his name by dawn. (As he kneels before her, the Nessun dorma theme makes a first appearance, to his words, "Il mio nome non sai!") If she does so, she can execute him; but if she does not, she must marry him. The cruel and emotionally cold princess then decrees that none of her subjects shall sleep that night until his name is discovered. If they fail, all will be killed. As the fi...

Amazingly blessed...

Sometimes when i look at my life and really analyze it, i realize how blessed i am and it makes me cry. The amazing friends i have made who chime in at all the right moments, the journeys i have been on, and the sights i have seen. Its not tears of sadness, its tears of joys from all of the blessings that i have in my life. My three kitties were so excited to see me. I look in their eyes and I swear i have a hard time holding back all of the tears. I feel the love they give me on a daily basis. They in some wierd way realize that i have to work, but when i do come home, they are so happy to see me. I leave this blog simple and thankful. I am going to see Greg Laswell tonight so I paste the words in hopes that his music will move you as much as it does me... I'm going to see some friends from out of state The very trip that you were supposed to take a while ago But it fell through Like all of you Like all of you Thought i'd make the drive but a free plane ride is in the ai...

Currently Listening to: Travis-12 memories It's been 4 days since my last post. What is going on with me? Who knows, I am just a busy busy boy. Getting ready for my may away and June gone. Whats that you say, that is the amount of time I will be here in San Diego. I am traveling the whole month. Just signed my last contract a few days ago. I will be traveling to Arizona, Dallas, Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale and god knows where else. I am looking forward to it but I am going to miss my girls, Tigher and Pepper. They are awesome. On to what i really want to talk about. Have you heard of Amy Winehouse? If you haven't click the link i have provided Amy Winehouse All I can say is I am thoroughly impressed. She is awesome. She has a 1950's feel and sound and I am willing to bet that she is going to win female artist of the year. Her album went to number 1 in a matter of 3 weeks in Europe and will do the same here. Check her out, i am sure you will love her as much as I do...
